Chelonia: Return of the Sea Turtle
This children's book, based on a true event, tells of a rescue, recovery and eventual return to the wild of a green sea turtle. Beautifully illustrated, entertaining and informative. A Research-based Elementary Classroom Resource:
Grupo Tortuguero worked with Susanna Musik of the Virginia Institute of Marine Science to develop Vida de la Tortuga, an activity designed to teach elementary students grades 3-6 about sea turtles in Mexico. Students will learn about endangered species and how humans can threaten and help them. This packet includes materials that address science and math standards.
